New Heights

There’s nothing quite like a beautiful piece of wood. The way it looks, it feels, it smells. Wood is completely natural and will last hundreds of years. Buy a good piece of wooden furniture you’re buying something for your children’s children.

Wood just gets better with age. The colour gets richer, the feel gets smoother, it becomes part of your life. That little knock in the corner where Billy bashed his Action Man tank? That’s a reason to throw out a bit of plasticy, veneered furniture. It’s a reason to cherish a decent piece of wood.

Every piece of wood is different, with grain and colour variations and the odd knot. This means that your table is different to everyone else’s table. Our furniture is made from American and European hard woods such as cherry, walnut, oak and maple. These are some of the finest woods around, and have been used by furniture makers for centuries. They have an enduring quality and a classic look that suits any home – be it modern or traditional.

We try to use solid wood in our furniture wherever we can. However, because solid wood expands and contracts, it is impossible to use it absolutely everywhere. We are only too pleased to answer any questions you may have about specific items in our ranges and about the various characteristics of the woods we offer.
